However, the lack of definitive plate boundaries challenges the comparison to Earth. Venus’ current state of stagnant lid tectonics, where rigid plates do not subduct beneath one another, adds complexity to understanding its geological history. Ongoing research aims to unravel Venus’ tectonic evolution and its potential Earth-like past.
