In a clinical study with over 2,000 chest X-rays, radiologists demonstrated superior performance to AI in identifying lung diseases. While AI exhibited moderate to high sensitivity, it generated more false positives than radiologists, particularly in cases with multiple findings. The study’s conclusion emphasized that AI should not autonomously diagnose lung diseases but rather function as an assisting tool to support radiologists in chest X-ray interpretation.

New AI Tech Could Revolutionize Denture Design and Improve Oral Health
Researchers at the University of Hong Kong have developed a new approach using artificial intelligence (AI) to automate the design of individualized dentures. This new approach has the potential to enhance treatment efficiency and improve the patient experience. The AI technology used in the process is based on a 3D Generative Adversarial Network (3D-GAN) algorithm. […]
Water treatment predictions using GVFs in the real world
In the real world, Generalized Value Functions (GVFs) are utilized to make online predictions for water treatment. These predictions involve assessing and forecasting various aspects related to water treatment processes. GVFs, which are mathematical models, help in understanding and predicting how different factors and variables impact water treatment outcomes. This includes predicting water quality changes, […]
Revolutionizing Experiments: Efficient Designs with Zero Autocorrelation Sequences
Orthogonal designs for computer experiments constructed from sequences with zero autocorrelation (also known as orthogonal arrays) are a powerful tool for efficiently and accurately estimating the effects of multiple factors on a response variable. These designs are particularly useful for computer experiments, where the factors can be controlled and the response variable can be measured […]
