BSMMU signs MoU with BMJ and icddr,b

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with British Medical Journal (BMJ) and International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b) with a goal to collaborate various research initiatives in the field of clinical sciences from a common institutional platform. The initiatives include sharing of facilities, knowledge and experience, assistance with clinical research, training and the preparation of research protocols, organizing workshops and scientific seminars to groom the future scientists and clinicians in order to tackle the unforeseen public health challenges.

Journals Communication Hub launched by Taylor & Francis Group

For ensuring effective communication among the journal Editors and authors, the Taylor & Francis group has launched a query management system, known as Journals Communication Hub. By registering, the authors will receive journal specific email addresses, through which the complete communication process of production, implementation and peer review will take place.

Winners announced for Macmillan Booksellers Professional Development Scholarship 2017

Nine booksellers were declared as winners of the Macmillan Booksellers Professional Development Scholarship 2017, which was conducted by Macmillan Publishers in association with Book Industry Charitable (Binc) Foundation in the month of July this year. The Scholarship pilot program, created after numerous requests as well as the results of Binc’s bookseller survey 2016, intended to provide professional development to the traditionally underrepresented booksellers in the industry.

ChemRxiv, an online digital repository is now available in Beta version

ChemRxiv, a new chemistry preprint server is now fully implemented in a Beta version for use and feedback by researchers. The free service by ACS and is powered by Figshare, an online digital repository for academic research.

JISC Report: A Scholarly Library

The recently launched JISC Report aims at filling in the knowledge gaps through development of new university presses (NUPs) and academic-led publishing (ALPs).
