Milk tea addiction linked to depression and anxiety in adolescents

A concerning link between milk tea addiction and adolescent depression has been revealed by a study conducted by researchers from Tsinghua University and the Central University of Finance and Economics in China. Surveying 5,281 college students in Beijing, the study found that milk tea addiction, driven by factors like persistent cravings and overconsumption, was associated with symptoms of depression, anxiety, and even suicidal thoughts. Milk teas, which have gained immense popularity among Chinese youth, often contain high sugar and caffeine levels, potentially contributing to low moods and isolation. Further research is recommended to understand the full extent of this issue.
