Cardiac rehabilitation is a medically supervised program that helps people recover from heart surgery and reduce their risk of future heart problems. It includes exercise, education, and counselling. A new study finds that people who participate in cardiac rehabilitation have a decreased risk of death years after surgery. The greatest reduction in mortality was found in patients who completed 36 or more sessions.
