The recently launched JISC Report aims at filling in the knowledge gaps through development of new university presses (NUPs) and academic-led publishing (ALPs). The report talks of the common features of NUPs and ALPs, such as open access, digital first, and many more such services that are different and advanced compared to traditional publishers.
